The Halesworth Area Sustainability Hub hosted an interactive stall at the Town Council’s Annual Parish meeting, testing families about their eco-friendly habits through fun games like ECO Twister and Play Your Cards Right.
Players challenged their carbon emissions testing each other’s actions at home, at work, at school, and while travelling. However big or small, eco actions make a big difference to both the planet and your wallet!
Did you know that 60% of all UK food waste happens right in our homes?
Collectively, we waste 4.4 million tonnes of edible food worth £17.5 billion, creating 16 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. For a family of four, that is around £1,000 wasted every year!
You can also slay your “energy vampires” by turning off those little red lights.
Reducing household standby power by 75% saves roughly 14kg of CO2 emissions annually. (About 3% of home electricity is used on standby alone.) How sustainable are your lifestyle habits? Take the challenge by trying our quiz here.
