Halesworth Climate Action Energy Weekend

Halesworth Climate Action Weekend was about Halesworth’s energy future.

The Friday panel inspired us: appreciating what had been achieved, we heard about the possibility of Community Energy from Charsfield and Framsden.

Saturday was practical for a good reason: Halesworth now has its BASELINE STUDY to work from – to see where we can efficiently support our community to to migrate to renewable energy systems. Having this information means we can can plan our pathway towards net zero.

We started in 2022, blossomed in 2023 with our first Climate Action Conference, and an Any Questions panel packed out. The following year, 2024, we specialised in Land and Food as well as organising an event a month with sold out Green Films at the Cut. In 2024 we ventured to Norwich and Rydal Mount, here opening out the dialogue about solar on farm land. At the 2025 Climate Action Energy Weekend, we launched Halesworth’s Baseline Report commissioned by Opergy.

2025 What is a baseline study?

To find a route map to achieve net zero carbon or adapt to climate change sufficiently, the first step is to know the baseline of the current and predicted future carbon emissions of the area.

Some key facts about Halesworth’s Baseline study by Opergy are outlined here.
